Hot Milk Sponge Cake
Makes one 9-inch round cake, about 8 slices. 15 minutes to mix, 30 minutes to bake.

- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup whole milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- Heat the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour the pan.
- Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.
- Beat the eggs until pale, about 3 minutes. Add the sugar slowly, then the vanilla.
