Terms of Use

Last updated: October 11, 2026. Versão em português

1. The service

CoAutor (coautor.com.br) is a tool that helps authors research, write and prepare books (text, interior, cover, description, listing and promotional material) to publish on Amazon KDP. By creating an account or using the service, you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. The service is offered by José Vagner Pitinga Pinto, an individual, CPF (Brazilian taxpayer number) 205.415.238-21, Blumenau/SC, Brazil.

CoAutor is not Amazon's and has no connection with it. Amazon, Kindle and KDP are trademarks of their owners.

2. Account

You must be at least 18 years old and provide true information. Keep your password safe: you are responsible for what happens in your account. Let us know if you suspect misuse. You can delete your account whenever you want, with the "Delete my account" button.

3. Your content and your rights

The book is yours. You keep all rights to the text, material and books you create with CoAutor. We claim no ownership of them. You give us only the permission needed to process, store and display your content in order to provide the service (including sending excerpts to the artificial intelligence providers described in the Privacy Policy).

You are responsible for what you publish. You state that you hold the rights to what you attach (text, images, photos) and that your book does not infringe the rights of others or the law. Do not use other people's material without permission.

AI-generated images. The images CoAutor creates for your book (covers, coloring pages and others) are generated by third-party artificial intelligence services. The terms of those services allow commercial use of the images you generate. But copyright law is still unclear about who can register or protect a work created with AI, and it varies from country to country. For that reason, we do not guarantee that you will be able to register those images in your name, nor that they will not resemble other people's work. If the image matters to your business, check the rule of the country where you sell.

4. Artificial intelligence

CoAutor uses AI to generate suggestions and text. AI can be wrong: it can make up facts, repeat ideas or resemble existing works. CoAutor offers checks (fact checking, review, alerts), but they do not replace your own reading. You are the author: review everything before publishing.

Amazon KDP requires the author to disclose AI-generated content when publishing. That disclosure is your responsibility. CoAutor's final step explains how to make it, but does not make it for you.

The text the AI suggests may, by coincidence, end up similar to works already published. This is rare, but possible. CoAutor does not check against a database of published works. So read and rewrite in your own voice whatever goes into the book, and do not publish passages you recognize from another work.

5. What you may not do

Use the service for illegal content, or content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other people's privacy, or that incites hatred or violence; try to get around limits, break in, copy or extract the inner workings of the service (including the prompts and the generation logic); use abusive automation; resell access without permission. We may refuse requests, and suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.

6. No guarantee of results on Amazon

Amazon decides what it accepts and how it displays it. We do not guarantee book approval, categories, ranking, sales or revenue. Niche research, and keyword, category and price suggestions, are supporting estimates, not promises.

CoAutor is an independent service. Amazon, Amazon KDP and Kindle are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. CoAutor is not affiliated with Amazon, nor approved or recommended by it. We use those names only to say which store or service we are referring to.

7. Packages, prices and payment

CoAutor charges one package per book. Creating the account and the book, editing, importing a manuscript and exporting cost nothing. Nothing is charged unless you choose a package and complete the payment.

Packages: CoAutor sells one package per book, paid once, with no subscription. The price depends on the size of the book and is shown, in Brazilian reais (R$), before the purchase. The packages are: Activity books (R$ 39), Short, up to 15,000 words (R$ 199), Standard, up to 30,000 words (R$ 379), and Long, up to 50,000 words (R$ 599). Without a package, you can create the account and the book, edit, import a manuscript and export; AI generation only works on the book after payment.

AI usage limit: each package includes a limit of AI generation on that book, sized to write the whole book with room to redo parts. When the limit is reached, generation stops on that book, and what has been written remains yours. AI generation has a real and immediate cost; for that reason, what was used in a completed generation does not come back, unless the service fails through our fault.

Payment: it is processed by Stripe, on its own page. CoAutor does not receive or store your card number.

Withdrawal and refund: within 7 calendar days of the purchase you can ask for a refund of a book's package (Brazilian Consumer Protection Code, art. 49). If AI generation has not been used on that book, we refund the full amount. If it has been used, we review the request case by case, according to how much was used, and answer within 5 days with the amount to be refunded. With the refund, that book's package is cancelled. Ask with the "Ask for a refund" button on the book's screen, or at suporte@coautor.com.br. Price changes do not affect packages already bought.

8. Availability and your files

We do our best to keep the service running, but we do not promise uninterrupted operation: maintenance, usage limits, generation queues and failures can happen. If a generation fails through our fault, its usage goes back to your package's limit. Export your files (the "Download my data" button and the files of each step) and keep a copy of your own.

9. Liability

If you are a consumer, all the guarantees of the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code apply, and nothing in these Terms reduces them.

CoAutor does not promise sales or approval on Amazon (section 6). The decisions to publish, and the content you publish, are yours: review what the AI suggests before using it.

If you contract as a company (a legal entity, for professional use), CoAutor is not liable for lost profits or lost sales, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months.

10. Termination

You can stop using the service and delete the account at any time. A deleted account loses access and is erased for good in 30 days, together with the books and the packages already paid; until then, you can sign in and cancel the deletion. We may suspend or close access in case of violation of these Terms, or shut down the service with 30 days' notice, allowing you to export your data.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms; relevant changes will be announced in the service or by email. No change reduces what you have already paid for: a package bought follows the rules of the day of the purchase. Brazilian law applies. The courts of Blumenau/SC, Brazil, are chosen, without prejudice to the courts of the consumer's domicile where the law so determines.

12. Contact
