Sample listing

Title
80s Word Search
Subtitle
Word Search Puzzles For Adults, Seniors, Large Print, Gift
Description
A book full of word searches about the 80s for you to have fun.
Keywords
paperback · word search · 80s word search · bestseller

Diagnosis · score 28/100

  • Fix · 3 of the 7 fields are empty.

Each empty field is a search the book cannot show up in.

  • Fix · "bestseller" claims quality or an offer ("bestseller").

KDP advises against this in metadata, and buyers do not type it.

  • Improve · The subtitle repeats words from the title: word, search.

Repeating does not raise your chance of showing up. Use the space for a new search.

  • Improve · The description is short (63 characters of text).

Use the space: the reader's problem, what the book delivers and why to trust it.

  • Improve · Nothing in bold.

Bold on the promise and the benefits makes the description scannable on a phone.

  • Improve · No benefits list.

Three to five short bullets with what the buyer gets.

And 4 more findings.

How it works

  1. 1

Paste the title, subtitle, description, the 7 keywords and the categories, as they are today.

  2. 2

The diagnosis separates what KDP rejects or ignores from what is just an improvement.

  3. 3

Title and subtitle that can no longer change appear separately, as "new edition only".

  4. 4

You change one item at a time on KDP and wait one to two weeks before the next.

Frequently asked questions

What can I change on a book that is already published on KDP?+

Under "Edit details": the description, the 7 keywords, the categories, the price and the interior and cover files. Title and subtitle of a print book can only change in the first 72 hours; after that, only with a new edition. A+ content lives under the Marketing tab and the bio in Author Central.

Does the diagnosis use AI or cost anything?+

No. It runs on rules: KDP limits and good practices from sellers in this niche. Each finding says which of the two it comes from. No sign-up and no payment.

Is the score the one Amazon gives my book?+

No. Amazon publishes no score. The score is a work order: it tells you where to start, not how much the book will sell.

Where do I find my book's keywords and categories?+

They do not appear on the public Amazon page. They are in your KDP account, under Bookshelf, "Edit details", in the book content step.

Does this guarantee more sales?+

No. Fixing the listing removes what gets in the way, but sales depend on the cover, price, reviews and who reaches the book. Change one item at a time and wait one to two weeks to see what worked.
